Conference to be held at the Nketia Conference Room, Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, Legon, from 9.30 a.m. on Saturday 27th August 2005, under the auspices of Bokoor African Popular Music Archives (BAPMAF).
The Conference is open to all those involved in, and those interested in, the theatre in Ghana, to teachers and students of theatre.
At present it is anticipated that there will be sessions on
- Trends in theatre research in Ghana
- The state of archives holding theatre research materials in Ghana
- Serving the next generation of students of the Ghanaian theatre.
Proposals for other sessions are invited.
Participants, whether giving papers or not, are encouraged to bring documentation about their work. There will be opportunities to display photographs, posters and programmes outside the plenary sessions.
Papers, lasting no more than 20 minutes, are invited on aspects related to recent research in Ghanaian Theatre. Those wishing to present papers should contact PROFESSOR JOHN COLLINS with a brief autobiographical statement and 500-word abstract of their paper. Closing date 1st August.

If you are interested in presenting a paper please indicate: title, and submit a 500 word abstract by 1st August. The organisers reserve the right to make a selection from papers for presentation.
If you wish to bring posters, photographs in order to mount a display, please indicate subject. (Note: Space is limited and cannot be guaranteed.)
